Ushering in a new life is a sacred occasion…

Libby is humbled to be working as a Full Spectrum Doula in Central Ohio. She has graciously worked alongside with many courageous women in the area, and trained with Restoring Our Own Through Transformation and National Black Doulas Association®. Libby maintains the effort to provide high quality, mindful, and inclusive birthing support to new/expecting families at every stage of their journey to usher new life into this world.

Studies show that births accompanied by doulas have significant benefits for the birthing person and child; such as stress reduction and improved health for them, their partner, and new baby. Utilizing birthing doulas specifically, have been known to decrease the rate of cesarean births, length of labor, and requests for epidurals/other pain medications.

Libby’s skillset and training allows her to provide a range of services on the spectrum of birthing care:

  • Prenatal Doula: Through knowledge sharing and support during pregnancy, the doula provides a gateway for the birthing person and partner to feel confident in their choices along this journey. These visits generally take place monthly during the 2nd and 3rd trimesters.

  • Birth Doula: During the birth, the doula’s role is to be means of informative, moral, and physical support (real time educated information, breathing techniques, specialized comfort measures, etc).

  • Postpartum Doula: Once the baby has arrived the doula gives the family time to rest and bond with their new love. Within 24 hours they will visit the family at the birthing site to answer questions related to feeding, bonding, recovery, and basic newborn care. 1-2 follow-up appointments will be coordinated based on the needs of the family.

We at BusyBÿ, LLC value doula representation at every stage of the birthing experience. We are currently accepting clients expecting in June of 2024 and beyond. Reiki is a non-harming energetic practice by the way of the practitioner placing his/her hands lightly on or over the patient's body to bring about a variety of benefits. Such noted benefits are aiding in relaxation, assisting in the body's natural healing processes, and developing emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. Reiki is also known to induce deep relaxation, help people cope with difficulties, relieve emotional stress, and improve overall wellbeing.

Reiki sessions are generally performed while the patient is lying down, but may be done seated as well. The session can be offered with or without hands on the patient, and may be accompanied by essential oils. Some patients have been known to experience sensations of warmth or tingling in their bodies, as well as deep emotional awarenesses.

Pantjali’s “Yoga Sutra” refers to the eightfold path that provides a basic guide to living a life of purpose and peace through the 8 Limbs of yoga: Yamas (attitudes toward our environment), Niyamas (attitudes toward ourselves), Asana (physical postures), Pranayama (restraint or expansion of the breath), Pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses), Dharana (concentration), Dhyana (meditation) and Samadhi (complete integration).

Within the physical practice of yoga (asana) there are a variety of styles to suite anyone’s needs. Libby guides a range of classes and workshops for people of all ages and abilities throughout Columbus, Ohio.

Pranayama is the fourth limb of yoga; the regulation of the breath through particular techniques and exercises. Our breath is our life force! Pranayama is known to help purify the blood and the respiratory system, as well as reduce anxiety, depression, and stress, lower/stabilize blood pressure, increase energy levels, and relax muscles.
